Coach John Porcher is a 22-year veteran, U.S. Army retired. Born and raised in the great city of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. He is influenced by his competitive nature with childhood friends, the Low Country culture of South Carolina and the environment cultivated his competitive nature. Outdoor activities and group sports like basketball, track, and field, and baseball influenced him to excel above his peers. As a youth, he was a leader in fitness long before it became trendy. Serving three years as a Drill Sergeant, Imagery Analyst, and Communications Security Equipment Technician, he has traveled across the globe during his service.
During his military travels over the decades, he has observed a decline in fitness standards and the health of the general public, among individuals of all ages. Now as a fitness enthusiast and personal trainer, his goal is to address modern-day health issues and help individuals maximize their full physical potential in the most natural way possible and unleash their inner athlete at any age. In a world filled with excuses and obstacles, one person's unwavering determination and unyielding passion for fitness can be a beacon of inspiration, proving that the human body is capable of extraordinary transformation and pushing the limits of what is deemed possible.
He obtained his NASM PT Coaching certification in 2014. In addition to personal training, he is a certified, veteran coach of Orange Theory Fitness (OTF) leading group fitness & HIIT classes since 2016. His favorite aspect of coaching OTF has been connecting to the community members of Alexandria, VA, and surrounding areas.
In the future, he would like to be influential and make an impact as an aging adult who continues to lead a highly active and healthy lifestyle, minimizing injury, and the onset of health conditions, with increased longevity and vitality. It is his hope and goal, his clients become knowledgeable of their mental and physical power and maximize their health and wellness with his coaching guidance.
